HE'S GONE

He doesn't want to see her cry
She doesn't want to feel the pain
They decided it was over
and he's going away.

The feelings between them
Have slipped away.
Time has not been kind
As they've drifted apart.

She cries every night
Having let him slip
Right out of her life
Into the arms of someone new.

Can he really be gone
Seems like only yesterday
The were in each others arms
Laughing, hugging, kissing

Where did the loving feelings go
Who snatched them away
When no one was looking
Sadness surrounds her now.

How can two people who
Loved each other so much
Just toss their love aside
And try to start all over again.

Love flew away
Through the door
Like a bird taken to flight
He's gone. He's gone.

She wonders if life
Was really so bad
Shouldn't she feel better
After he's been gone.

She can't sleep at night
Every noise wakes her up
Thinking he's joining
Her in their bed

Her life seems so empty
No one ot hold on to
No laughs, no kisses
Only fears and tears

Can she make it on her own
She's sure she can
Times will be rough
But she's tough

She can take it
Else she'll fake it
The joy life can bring
Has faded away

She's got to pull
Herself together
It's happened many times before
You'd thinks she's get used to it

She's a survivor
Independent and free now
It doesn't feel as good
As she thought it would
