DEARLY BELOVED
LET US BE REMINDED TODAY

As we gather today, may we be reminded that the ceremony of marriage in which you come to be united is the first and oldest ceremony in all the world, celebrated in the beginning in the presence of God Himself. Marriage is a gift of God, given to comfort the sorrows of life and magnify its perfect joys.
Marriage is the clasping of hands, the blending of two hearts, the union of two lives as one. Your marriage must stand, not by the authority of the State nor by the seal on your wedding certificate, but by the strength of your love one for another and by the power of your faith in each other and in Almighty God.
You can have this kind of Godly home if you continue to recognize God as the source of romance and love and affection, for those are His gifts to you. Build your own home on a Spiritual foundation by forever putting God first in all things present and to come.
With God, you will have everything you could ever hope for; and without God, you will have nothing but loneliness and aloneness ~~ even when you are together.
My dear friends who have joined us in this ~ A Quiet Place, where are you in your present marriage union? We want you to reflect on that question and to write down the responses that come. Seek God's presence and power. Patiently wait. Renewal is yours, when you let God be God. You have come to be reminded that:
~~ You both vowed before God to love one another.
~~ You both exchanged rings as a token of that vow.
~~ You both heard God's word the Bible pronounced
over your union.
~~ You both prayed to God and were both prayed for.
~~ It was you two who were pronounced husband and wife
in the sight of God and witnesses. And
~~It will be up to you two to keep the fires burning
Within your own union as God so loves His Church.
Preachers are not exempt from obeying God's word, God's will or His way.

THE SCRIPTURE
Marriage is the union ordained by God.
It is between one man and one woman.
Pray for "DOMA" ~ Protect marriage!
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for it, that He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, that He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that it should be holy and without blemish.
So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.
For we are members of his body, Of His flesh and of His bones. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.
This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

This passage of scripture begins with the edict just before it, which says, "submitting to one another" [in love].
Truly, Marriage is an Honorable Estate. It is sanctioned by Almighty God. And, it is blessed by God between a man and a woman! Be mightily blessed of God.

N E W!!
On Wednesday, June 10, 1998, following much publicity about the revised portion of the Southern Baptist convention Policy in re the above-quoted scripture, I came back and increased the size of the text of the "Note" portion above. Women of God recognize the balance of God's word in Jesus. He came to set at liberty the captives. Jesus modelled for us more than 2,000 years ago the family structural relationships between a man and a woman. And Jesus also came to teach a new Godly respect and freeing up of women overall. More than that, Jesus has given to all who name the name Jesus, the Holy Ghost to hear the voice of God.
Too many Godly Christian women, wives, and singles have been hurt by one-sided Biblical truths. You can learn to speak to God's heart and listen to Him as He speaks to yours. I implore you, women, know God and be balanced in The Lord. The Bible truths apply to all. And Christ is the head of all. I will continue to seek God's voice to help continue freeing up His own people from man-made doctrines and denominations unto the very preached gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in action and in deed.

Summer 2000 A.D., the Southern Baptist Convention met once again. This time they decided to forge a policy that says women are not called by God to Pastor and Preach the (liberating) gospel of Jesus Christ. But we know that, in the final call, God Himself will be found to be true and every man, woman, boy, and girl, a liar.
I do not know how it is in many homes of Christian Clergy, but I do thank God that in my home and in the homes of many of the women called by God to preach and pastor, we have love and peace. Our husbands do not try to block or stop what God has done in our lives. They are supportive and loving and giving. They yield to God's will. They are confident in the Lord within themselves. They need no support groups or crying towels. They love God. They love us -- their wives and mothers of their children. And they know they are blessed of God to have our Godly, healing hands touch them in their base needs in everything pleasing to God. No. We are not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus.
If they could diminish us, God's called women of faith, they would, likewise, come for you, their own wives, sisters, mothers, and daughters to shut you away from God's mighty hand in your lives. But WE shall never capitulate!
To the female spouses of male clergy, when your husbands are not at peace, seek God's voice in the matter. Is your man in God's will? Do you go along with him in what is not of God for the sake of peace? Do you stand up for God's truth and righteousness even behind the walls of your own homes? If you do not have peace in your own homes with men of God who stand as clergy, then we will pray for you to know God's freedom and truth and peace. Give God the glory. God really does call whoever He wants for whatever purpose He wants. In fact, God calls from before we are even born. Respect God's women of the cloth, also.

BENEDICTION

The Lord bless you and keep you.
The Lord make His face shine upon you
And be gracious unto you.
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.
