This information is read not only in the West, but is widely read and respected by Managers, Directors, and Government Officials inside the Former Soviet Union. This data is also mirrored on literally hundreds of servers throughout the region.

Dr. Palms is an investment banker, has extensive background in dealing with economic, business, import/export, finance, and government policies, and has the ear of many key individuals throughout the world.                   The Difference between the Command Economy and the Free Market in Russia is an important article to read to help you to understand the different perceptions that exist between the East and West in this critical area of discussion.

NOTE: We recommend that the Russian Cyrillic version of this article be printed out and handed to every Russian director to read before they have their first serious financial discussion. Every Western manager should also read this before embarking on an enterprise in Russia.

A Collection of selected Recent Palms Articles . All of these are also available through the Palms Portal Lobby, but this page goes direct to a local menu pointing to some key articles that we feel are particularly important to read if you want to work successfully in the Former Soviet Union.

Advice on China Advice from the China Friends & Partners Database

An extensive library of important and useful on-line information and advice for achieving business success in the Far East and particularly in the People's Republic of China. While the Former Soviet Union and China have many things in common as far as their entry into the free market, their are significant differences that must be studied and understood. In many ways China has become much more advanced and capable in the market, and there are lessons here for other emerging economies. Many of the skills needed for doing business in China are quite different than those needed in Russia, for instance, and as time goes on we will try to discuss these issues and help to link you to useful resources that will be helpful. Come back often.
