NH Food Bank Donation
The University of New Hampshire Hospitality Management Program is pleased to announce that a portion of the proceeds from our November 2008 Gourmet Dinners will be donated to the New Hampshire Food Bank. The New Hampshire Food Bank is the only food bank within the state and is responsible for collecting, storing and redistributing food. The food bank does not directly distribute food to those in need, but rather to various organizations within communities across the state. These various organizations understand their communities and can best distribute the food. Over the past several months the New Hampshire Food Bank has experienced a critical shortage due to increased demand and fewer donations.
The advanced food and beverage class will make a donation of $1,000 at the conclusion of the dinners. As a class, we acknowledge how fortunate we are to be pursuing a higher education and are excited that we have the opportunity to support our community. As future leaders, we desire to continue the hospitality industries long history of contributing to local communities. Our donation will directly impact the current and future status of hunger and poverty in New Hampshire. Please join us for a wonderful evening and in our efforts to support the local communities of New Hampshire.
