You Know You're Out Of The Habit Of Reading Ranma 1/2 Fanfiction When All Your Links Become Outdated...but I still have most of my favorites, and I'm looking for the others I'm missing...but, aiyah!! How to list all these links? There are so many great pages! And they're all worth seeing! WHAAA!!!!

I've decided to try and seperate these into categories, based on what the main focus of the page is. Whether it's a link to a truly epic story, or to a page with one of the most amazing collection of images or other links. If I've left you out, I am very sorry; but if I linked every single page, and provided a description of all of them... well, suffice to say that it would take a while, and better people than I have already done a better job than I could. I'm going to try and add people as I go along. Needless to say, this is far from complete.

Setting up the divisional categories was tricky; deciding what would go where was even more tricky. After all, a lot of the epic and coming-of-age stories contain a lot of romance. Some pages contained so many stories of so many varying styles that I couldn't make myself place them in just one category. I've divided it up as best I can. I hope it makes sense to you.

• Ranma and Akane: A Love Story: In the world of this intricate, amazing story, Ranma became really pissed off with his father and decided to train on his own, long before they ever arrived at the Tendou Dojo. In this world, Ranma does not know he has any fiancees. He has learned many things from many people, fought demons, done some time-traveling, mastered many weapons, makes use of his girl-form and his boy-form equally, is exceedingly powerful...and finds his way to Nerima, where he meets Akane completely by accident. And ends up becoming her friend and teacher. In this world, Akane has the potential to be a greater martial artist than Ranma himself is. And she had better learn fast, because as usual, strange things are afoot. I love this story. The characters are different from the ones we know and love, but still familiar, and fascinating to watch. And I will gladly bestow sainthood upon anyone who considers Akane a real martial artist, and treats her accordingly. =) In addition to all this- not to mention being exceedingly well written- the story has moments of humor that I just love. It is unbelievable.

• Waters Under Earth: This story combines an incredible writing style with a plotline that reminds me vaguely of Chiesai: Dreams of Darkness, only with more mythology. It's epic tales like this that make me wish fanfiction was a valid form of literature...this needs to be published. It's finished now. Even though the ending was great, I'm sad; I want more! *sygh*

• The Jade Gates-Joseph Kohle's Fanfic Page: The home of Honour, Love, and Hate, potentially my favorite fanfiction ever. It's a very serious, detailed story with plot twists and action and an intensity that is unmatched in any other story I've read, with the possible exception of Ranma and Akane: A Love Story. Believe it or not, after around two years (maybe more) of waiting, the next chapter is actually out. I haven't read it yet; I want to reread all the rest of the story first. I can only hope that this chapter doens't leave us at such a phenominal cliffhanger...ai yi yi...

• Tiger Claw: Some Shady Characters are messing with Ranma's Neko-ken abilities. They manuever him into a position where he goes into a much, much darker and more deadly version, and things happen. This series has depth, romance, intrigue, and a damned engaging plot. All RIGHT! It's written by the same woman who's been writing That Which Lingers, one of the greatest Rurouni Kenshin fanfics in existance, which was awarded much acclaim during the 1999 Rurouni Kenshin Reader's Choice Awards She's an excellent writer- check her out!

• Hearts of Ice: Yet another of Shampoo's wild ideas gets Akane sent off to the Kami plane, and Ranma's incapable of following her. Then even more complications arise...like the Cat-Fist, and the Snow Woman, and... *wow* An awe-inspiring series, believable and filled with all sorts of little surprises...like everyone else in the world, I'm going crazy waiting for the last chapter, even if I completely sympathize with the author's current state of author's block. A truly brilliant concoction. Also, be sure to check out the collection of fanart...there's some really breathtaking pictures in there. There's one picture of Yuki-onna in this fantastically ornate, elaborate robe that comes to mind...whoa...

• Chiesai - Dreams of Darkness: Long, long ago, the Tendou family swore that there would never be more than two Tendou daughters at any time, for three daughters would be the keys to unlocking an ancient malevolent being...but Soun Tendou broke that vow, and the forces of darkness have been watching. This is the story that got me to start writing serious fanfiction and forever hooked me on epic fanfiction. It's absolutely fantastic. Very long, but without question worth the read. I'm cheating and linking to where it's archived in the RAAC lists, but I can't find it anywhere else on the net, and I can't even remember where I first ran into it. The author's name is Shannon M. Richmeyer. If you know her, please tell her that I think her story is phenominal, and beg her to write and send me anything else she's done!!! (similarly, if she has a page, will you please let me know where it is? I got a gazillion answers last time I made such a request...)

• Joseph Palmer's Fanfics: The king of WAFFy stuff. This guy writes beautiful, lovely fanfics that you can easily see happening at some point, about Ranma and Akane...yay!!!! He was recently voted one of the ten most influential authors of the 90's, and I for one am not in the least surprised. If you're reading this, sir, congradulations!!!!! And thank you for all the time you've put into your work!

• The Anything Goes Ranma 1/2 Studio: Here you will find a whole bunch of lovely oneshots by Kiwi and Kahill Noriega. There are other things, too...but the WAFFy oneshots are what I love best. =) (yeah yeah, I know I'm a romantic)

• Tonbo's Fanfiction Page: Where you will find another of my favorite stories, Why Don't you Try Me For Real?, which I think perfectly illustrates the romantic relationship between Ranma and Akane...or rather, the tension between them...or...hehee. Anyway, it's fantastic.

• Horde O'Hentai Archives: These are probably the first hentai stories I ever read. They rock. (don't ask how old I was when I first found them. I'm of legal age now, right?)

• Daigakusei no Ranma: The longest running Ranma continuation fic. Ranma and Akane get married and go to college. It's really neat!!!!!!!!! Very true to the series, and the characters develop in neat realistic ways. Yay! And DARN is there ever good fanart...I especially like Ranma's mad dog impression. Wheee! As if all that wasn't enough, the page itself is phenominally well-designed...I feel like such a slacker in comparison.

• Richard Lawson's Homepage: Home of the impossibly well-written story Thy Inward Love, one of the classics. Lawson also wrote the contraversial Thy Outward Part, which is better read than explained (I surprised myself by liking it a great deal), and Roses of Shadow which--god forbid--explores possibilities of Kodachi and Ranma. Also many insightful one-shots, and some good stories in other anime worlds, too. You know him, you love him, go there. But be wary of the teaser for a Ranma 1/2 - Watchmen crossover. (my mind is not capable of comprehending such a strange idea. Those of you who've read Watchmen or V is for Vendetta may understand why. Interesting thought though)

• Clarity: Watch as all of the Ranma characters Get A Clue, one at a time. It's amusing in parts and wonderfully insightful in others, and I like it more and more the more I read. The ideas are new, lovely, and very well written--I nearly died laughing with delight and surprise when I read the first chapter, which regards Shampoo and Cologne. Cologne decides to ask the Amazon council for help in winning son-in-law for Shampoo...and recieves a very surprising (but perfectly sensible!) answer. Heh heh heh. Go read it, and then tell Allison (the author) what you think- she wants comments! And if she gets them, maybe she'll write more!!! Please please please go encourage her, I so want more of this story! She just posted chapter seven. =) It's all my fault that it was so late, so blame me, not her.

• Bob Barnes' Fanfics: It all started with a short story called The Masks We Wear, about what it could be like if Ranma and Akane have been fooling us all along...it was NEAT and possible and I love it! Then Bob decided to continue the story in a series called Cut Wood, Carry Water, which is equally incredible. Yahoo!!! The only problem is that new installments come out with the speed of a rampaging glacier...ergh...(yeah yeah, I know that I can't really complain)

• The Ranma 1/2 Gallery- Fan Fiction: Includes a bunch of neat things, especially Ranma's Apartment, a nifty piece in which Ranma gets sick of his life and moves out...It's creative and different, and I like all the interactions. Plus, there's a slight crossover with "Ah! My Goddess??" which also works really well. (and I usually hate crossovers!) This page also now has a truly lovely collection of pictures I haven't seen anywhere else before...yay!!! (many thanks to Jasmine, and all the other numerous people who told me where the new page was. Yay!)

• Thomas Scroggs: Home of the Childhood Mysteries fanfic, an interesting story about what happens on the day that Ranma's six year old daughter show up at the Tendou dojo...while Ranma is still sixteen. It's actually a very serious story. I used to be a prereader, but I haven't heard anything from the author for a while. I should write and find out if he ever came up with more ideas for chapter seven.

• Ray's Fics: Yet another hugely underrated author. His main series is entitled Hidden Talents, and consists of a series of vignettes in which each Ranma character reveals an ability that wouldn't normally be displayed. Some of them might surprise you. I do wish he'd write one for Akane, though...I can't imagine what her hidden talent might be. (maybe she's a closet synchronized swimmer...nah)

• Bridget and Jamie's Fanfics and Food: On this page you can find the stupendously action-oriented Chasing the Wind, the hysterically funny Muppet Show's Tribute to Anime, the delightfully lemon-scented Wedding Night (one of my favorites), and lots of other goodies...both Bridget and Jamie are excellent writers. At first I wanted o put this in the Epic section, because of Chasing the Wind. then I wanted to put it in Romance, because of Wedding Night. I gave up and put it here. You can find some of everythng on this page; no matter what your tastes, you're guaranteed someting you'll love.

• Lord Archive's Ranma Fanfic Page: My God, I don't think I've ever seen so many one-shots in one place!! Most of them are very funny, too. (check out The Last Man On Earth!!!) There's a neat continuation fic entitled Ranma 1/2: The Insanity Continues that's very very in character and funny and sweet and cool. There's also a very depressing fic that I nonetheless have found myself enjoying called Rejected, about what would've happened if Ranma's first meeting with his mom went a bit differently. Very thought-provoking. But mostly, I love this guy's one-shots. Spiffy stuff.

• Laura-chan's Ranma and Akane Shrine: A site that gets neater and neater whenever it's updated...has *lots* of pictures, a list of instances that prove Ranma and Akane really like each other, and a bunch of great fanfics. One of including the best way of getting Kunou to fall for Nabiki that I've ever seen. I quote:

  Kasumi: "Oh my! Why don't you go pester my sister Nabiki 
  	for a while?"
  
   Kunou: "Thank you, Kasumi Tendou; I would never have 
  	thought of that. NABIKI TENDOU, MY LOVE!!!!!!"

• Ill Met By Starlight: Twitch. Twitch. TWITCH. "What would happen is Ranma wasn't the hero of the series...but the villain?" I both love and hate this fanfic. They've utterly twisted my favorite character, but, but, but, they do it so WELL!!!!!! Augh!!!!!!! If you look around for the other stuff written by these people, you'll also find a great story entitled Reunions: The Tofu/Kasumi Segment, in which Kasumi gets a gun. Not to mention Ukyou Can Cook, one of the coolest, freakiest stories in existance. You might want to read it several times to catch all the subtleties. Ohmygoodness!

• Andrew Huang's homepage: A spiffy collection of Ranmafics, some of them by Andrew Huang himself, others collected from the best webpages out there...includes Life and Manhood, one of my all time favorites and the inspiration for my own fanfic, I Promise You.

• Bailesu's Ranma Fiction Page: Containing classics (well, to me they're classics!) like Putting Your Heart In the Right Place, Elseworlds, and the absolutely incredibly brilliantly done Shampoo's Quest, which is even funnier than The Muppet Show's Tribute to Anime. Go there, read it. Trust me, you won't regret it.

• Ranma 1/2 Fanfiction: There's a lot of things archived on this page. I particularly reccommend Rhapsody, Euphoria, Divination, and Disenchanment by Tzigane.

• Dave Eddy's Fanfiction: Lots of neat stuff here, too. Contains the very cool Nekophobia story, in which Akane becomes cursed to turn into a cat, forcing Ranma to deal with his fear of them. Yay!

• KaraOhki's Pagoda The word "prolific" rather leaps to mind...wow!

My favorite one is missing. Grrr! I will seek out and find! It's called the Lum Anime Album Homepage...where'd it go?

• THE list of Ranma fics: You can find just about everything in this list. That is, everything that's ever been sent to the Ranma Fanfiction Mailing List. Which is nearly everything. Check it out!

• Remi Kay's Page of Favorite Ranma 1/2 Fanfic Links: Neato!!!! Remi Kay has two beginning fics here that are really spiffy, not to mention a long list of all the best fics out there.

• Yoiko's Ranma 1/2 Sound Shrine: Lots and lots and lots of .wav files. YAY!

• Steve's Ranma 1/2 Multimedia Page: All sorts of great music, video clips, and whatnot to be found here. Also a good amount of information about lyrics for the openers and closers, and the like. The owner of the site's been having a bit of trouble with finding web space, but it's still a good place to be.

• UGMA Gate 47: Cabbit Space Central: All sorts of cool things in here. The page is currently being redesigned, but it looks fantastic even if it's unfinished. Definitely go take a look. Amongst the gems hidden in this page is the Knighthood of the True Fiancee. Yes, that means Akane. Yes, of course I'm a member- number 207 to be exact!
