David had Down (Down's) Syndrome, and was an avid participant in the Special Olympics when he was younger, participating in the softball, running, jumping, and bowling aspects. He won numerous medals, and this picture to the left was taken at the awards ceremony.
He loved thunderstorms.. thus, the lightning in the background. He also loved music, and dancing. His favorite group was the Monkees. :) Everyone who met him loved him. He was just... so charismatic.. always smiling. Even when he was down, when he was the one hurting, he would tell others not to worry, to be happy. An Eternal Optimist..
The song playing in the background is the "Ashokan Farewell".. this song was playing when I got the phone call from my father......
