General Information

  • Where is it?

The Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park is located about 250 km (around 155 miles) from the city of Brasilia, in the North of the state of Goias.

  • How to arrive there?

Brasilia is connected to the small city of Alto Paraiso by a paved road (kept in very good conditions, by the way). From Alto Paraiso to the very small village of Sao Jorge (where the entry to the park is located) there a road 37 km (23 miles) long. Note: one can entry into the Park only if accompanied by a local guide.

  • What will we find there?
    • In the Park there are many beautiful waterfalls as well as rock canyons and hot water springs.
    • In the city of Alto Paraiso there are many esoteric and new age groups. The town is often called "Capital of the Third Millennium".

  • Related web sites:

We have found just two pages in English that have some info about the Park: page 1 - page 2. On the other hand, there are many pages about the Park written in Portuguese, and you will find links to them in the Portuguese version of our page.
