Hey, if Methos can have a boxer brigade, then Matthew Ferguson *definitely* deserves a hair brigade!

Who is Mr. Ferguson? Well, those of you who watch "Nikita" (aka "La Femme Nikita" in the States) will know - he's the guy who plays the compu-geek Birkoff. What he usually looks like in the series is this:

And that's fine. However, the others of us who remember Matt when he was a struggling young Canadian actor of some note, will sadly mourn until our dying breath the moment when we realized that the impossible had happened - that Matthew, dear Matthew, had - gasp, sob - CUT HIS HAIR!!!!!

Sure, he's doing fine. He's got a good career going, the show's going good, and people like him. And everyone's gotta grow up, right? Well, *I* still remember. . .

I'm rather involved in writing Nikita slash at the moment, and Birkoff/Michael in particular. And *my* Birkoff has a backstory - one involving long, flowing dirty-blond locks. . . *sigh*

I thought, just to help people figure out just what the hell I'm talking about when I describe him, I'd put together this page. And if anyone wants to join the mourning group, leave me a message below!

Love and Human Remains:

*Way* cool Canadian movie, *very* glb, with Thomas Gibson ("Dharma and Greg" and "Chicago Hope"), Cameron Bancroft (late of "90210"), and various other people. But, most importantly, Matthew was in it. Looked about seventeen. *Played* about seventeen, flirted with TG's character, *kissed* him, and was generally the cutest little bit of jailbait ever to come off of Toronto Island.

"I want to be like you." Sigh. I've seen this movie so many times, I even remember the dialogue. I need a hobby. Like slash. :)

Eclipse:

Still with the long hair, still playing jailbait. Eclipse was another Canadian production, one of those 'sexual daisy-chain' movies that came and went a couple of years ago, with pretty limited success. Matthew's naked butt was in this one, and he had the hair, and he played openly gay. I was in heaven.

Another very gay Canadian movie, with beautiful naked boys in it - unfortunately, Matthew wasn't one of them. :( See, I *knew* that when he cut his hair, bad things would start to happen to him. He was only in about a minute of "The English Patient", for gosh sakes!

Matthew plays a man who eventually becomes a bishop. . .a shame, isn't it?

Nikita:

And of course, here we are today. He did other movies, but I'm having a hard time getting good pictures that I haven't seen already, that have Matthew featured in them. Quinn's got tons, though - go see her site.
