On January, 12th 1998, people who love Animaniacs received a hard stroke
- the WB Animation announced that there will be no new Animaniacs episodes
for the 98-99! What a madness! That sounds a total insanity. After getting
two Emmy's and entertaining millions arround the World, the Show leaded
by Yakko, Wakko and Dot was aborted!
In fact the kill joy masters haven't said the Show is cancelled. They've announced that the Sibs would are going to "sleep for a while". Hummm... Have you heard something similar before? Who knows the history about the WB Animation is sure this kind of decision means the death of the cartoon. But do you think Animaniacs is getting tedious. No way! "The Simpsons" has been on the air for seven years and is still a sucess! What's wrong? The following note, from the "Save Animaniacs Central", explains what happend in the WB Animation: "It's good to see many of us organizing a letter campaign to try to save A!. However, with those, and other general posts of dissatisfaction on this ng, there's one underlining target for all these posts: Jamie Kellner. Now sure, Jamie has earned our disrespect as a scheduling director for the WB network with his playing around of the time for F! (which basically killed the show there), and his rather incommittment to Road Rovers. Understandable, many people on this ng dislike him. However, I think in the case of A! and the revamped PatB, Jamie isn't where you should be pointing your finger to, at least directly. Read the press release on how the new PatB developed, and you see that it seems that Jean MacCurdy, the person in charge of the Animation services (not the television network) was partially responsible for the decisions regarding next years shows. Jamie may have had some say , with regards to ratings and such, but MacCurdy, from what I understand, decides how and where the WBA budget is to be spent. Furthermore, Spielburg himself happened to have a lot of direct say in the upcoming season. I wouldn't recomment flaming either of these as we have done with Kellner, but do realize that the decision for the next season was a shared responsiblity, and not the whim of just one person. Keep this in mind when you are writing your letters". The A! fans started the campaigns in order to save the Sibs. And the WB Animatiors staff are not indifferent with the noise the fans are doing. It looks like there will be changes. Better saying it looks like that WE can plot the future for Yakko, Wakko and Dot! The best for them. The sucess of the main campaigns aim now just denpend on our effort. Let's continue! |

THE DISPLEASURE'S PhD, Jamie Kellner, has began
to bullshit. Recently he's said one of the most nonsense things we've ever
heard - "A toon is a terrible thing to waste". Has he spoken seriously?
Sorry but or we or Mr. Kellner must go to the hospice because we don't
agree with that idea. What does it mean?
In our opinion Animaniacs may be an expensive cartoon but Yakko, Wakko and Dot can get much more profits to the WB. Why? Because they are lovable! They can enchant people who have never known them before. They can enchant billions arround the Planet. Thus they could be watched by thousands of new TV stations (one money source), their new fans could get more home videos (other money source), and the Sibs could sell countless of things like T-shirts, socks, greeting cards, stuffed-dolls, notebooks, diaries, watches... (wow! We are hearing the cash register's song). That Kellner's policy is crashing against the marketing baisic principle... but Kellner is the boss, the commandant, the manager, the big one... (if you've ever read something from "Dilbert's World" or from his creator Mr. Scott Adams, you are realizing what we are saying...). |

More than plain merchandising Animaniacs, are part of our lives. We love
them and we think they love us. It's hard to us imagine to live without
them. We love them and we've learned with Yakko, Wakko and Dot to
love the people arround us. They are funny, lovable.
Their show is simply the best on the 90's TV. It is a show like a few ones that can entertain the parents and sons, to meet the family. We are tired of tons of sex and violence! There is much garbage on TV. Where is the educational purpose of the TV? Animaniacs meet that requirement! What else? It looks like there is no brain men on TV networks. We can find at least one brain man. Or only "a" Brain must be enough! |
