| John's 2nd Gibson J-160E purchased in 1964. The 1st one was purchased along with George's in 1962 and was stolen in 1963 and never recovered. John later stripped his around 1968. This guitar now resides in The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland. | John's 1st Rickenbacker 325 originally purchased in Germany in 1960. Originally with a natural finish, John had this guitar painted sometime in 1962. Lennon added the Bigsby vibrato and bow-tie bridge soon after he got the 325 and used it as his main stage and studio guitar from 1960 to early 1964. It has since been restored (Why?) to it's natural color, along with the addition of a new white pickguard (Originally gold). | George's Gibson J160-E. In the summer of 1962, George and John both ordered Gibson J-160E's from Rushworths Music in Liverpool. After John's was stolen in 1963, he would use George's. Originally Fireglow Red, then psychedelic for Magical Mystery Tour, Paul stripped this bass guitar sometime in late 1968. Paul still owns this bass today. | Paul's Epiphone Casino. Paul purchased this guitar in late 1964. First used on the "Help!" sessions on "Ticket to Ride" and "Another Girl". Paul still uses this guitar today. | George's Fender Stratocaster. This 1963 model was purchased in late 1964 and was originally Sonic Blue. George later had "The Fool" paint it in day-glow colors for the Magical Mystery Tour movie. | George's Gibson Les Paul. This guitar was used by Eric Clapton on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and given to George after that session. This guitar was stolen and later recovered for George. This guitar now resides in the Harrison estate. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| George's Gretsch Duo Jet guitar. This guitar was used on the early sessions for the LP "Please Please Me" in 1962. It was given to Klaus Voorman in the early 1960s and given back 20 years later.In an interview George gave at some point , he stated that it had been completely restored . George referred to the guitar as "Cloud Nine" and used it on the sessions for that solo LP. This guitar now resides in the Harrison estate. | Stu Sutcliffe's Hofner President bass. After selling a painting at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, Lennon persuaded Stu in buying this bass and joining The Beatles for their trip to Hamburg. | Russ Lease, left, is the proud owner of the original "Ed Sullivan Show' Beatles bass drumhead that he purchased from Sotheby's in London. He commisioned Jack Lawton, right, to make him a replica bass drum to display the original skin. The Beatles used seven bass drumheads between 1963 & 1967, each varying slightly in style. Jack Lawton restores vintage drum kits with the original Black Oyster Pearl pattern & also has replica Beatles drumskins available. He can be reached at (570)988-0655. | This studded Vox Python guitar strap was used by John Lennon and then given to Eric Clapton whilst he was playing with Cream in 1967.
