obvious ramblings on a normal life
On soccer games and championships

Today was mother's day. So, following a tradition we've had here at home since we learned how to make coffee, we woke up early to make her breakfast. Actually Danilo woke up really early, and baked two cakes for her breakfast, while he made coffee. Then I woke up, and went to the bakery to buy bread. On the way back I stopped at a flower shop and bought her a white rose.

When everything was ready, we woke Anselmo up (Ana Paula was already awakened) and got in her room singing to her, with her breakfast in a tray. She probably had awakened earlier and was waiting for us to arrive, since she didn't look very sleepy, but it's ok. We love doing these kinda things for her, and she loves doing these kinda things for us (actually, we learned it from her), so that made that kind of happy family moment we all love to have, mother and her four kids having breakfast in her bed. Spock, who spent the night here, joined us a little after.

I didn't do anything else very important for the rest of the morning. I went back to sleep a little, then read, feeling remorse for leaving The Boring Job without even telling The Local Boss a week before the virtual library's supposed due date. It's like, I'm waiting for them to call any moment asking what's happened to me.

Later in the afternoon most of The Harem, plus my cousins came here at home, to watch a soccer match. It was the final game of the state championship, between two of the most popular teams here, Corinthians and São Paulo.

I never liked playing soccer, and never was good at it. So I don't have a favorite soccer team, and pay very little attention to championships and stuff. Most normal people do, however. Anselmo and Moicano's favorite team is Corinthians, and the rest of the Harem's favorite team is São Paulo. Consequently, the tension level among the people here during a final game between the two teams was pretty high. I don't really care about it, so I had a lot of fun bothering everybody and making fun of what was happening.

It was a pretty hard game, but São Paulo ended up winning. Anselmo got really depressed, cried and all, while everybody else was jumping around and shouting, commemorating the victory. It amuses me the energy people spend with that. I have a theory that if every person who spends their time and effort praying god for their team to win spent it instead trying to solve global misery, the world would be a MUCH better place. But it's nice to be in a cheerful environment like that, so it was worth spending two hours of my life watching the game. And, anyway, I had as much fun as the rest of the people here, even though it was from a different source.

After the game we had a snack, and kept on talking as usual. We spent a LOT of time talking, amusing ourselves with our gift for speaking useless stuff. When it was around 9pm, we started playing cards, and went on playing until 11.

This is really short, but I'll have to stop here, it's really late, and I have to wake up early tomorrow. So, good night.
