The New Dylans

I have created a New Dylans link in the page since Jim and Reese seem to have rebuilt the band. John Lombardo played bass and was the producer of their first record "Warren Piece", which was released in 1993. I still have no news about their touring plans or new records, but this will be a permanent link for any New Dylans info. Their official site is not uploaded since August 97, so I probably be their only source of info on the Internet from now on... Or until the official site revamps again.

Short Biography: As far as The New Dylans story goes, they came from Warren, PA and had many different line-ups over the years. The only two members that were always in the band happen to be their songwriters... Jim Reilley and Reese Campbell.
Reese was originally in a band with John Lombardo in 1986 called The Billups but they never really made a record. However, two of those tracks that were recorded in the past are featured in that same first record, "Warren Piece". Their names are "Doreen" and "Old Overcoat" and also feature 10KM drummer Jerry Augustyniak. This record came on Red House label and was followed in 1995 by "The American Way", a bit more pop and less folk and acoustic this time but still quite good and should be their best album up to now.
The New Dylans also made several demos for their fan club and built sort of a cult following but after Reese and Jim took a break things seem to be back to normal and they're getting ready to be back.
And still, according to John Lombardo's words we might even see more Billups work in the future.

Warren Piece review

Apparently Red House stocks don't have many New Dylans CDs left by now. I don't know if they'll go on as their label or if The New Dylans are no longer with them. Anyways, strike while the iron is hot if you do want to buy their records.
