You are about to witness the strength of street knowledge.

brakes are evil.

WARNING: The following page may contain content.

But why waste your time here? Do something else. Ride your bike.

Go to a show. Or learn a new language. Okay, have it your way.

Then again, since you're here, this page is dedicated to the 20-inch bicycle, the seven-inch single, the 12-inch LP and the 73-inch sturgeon. It's brought to you by the letter 'L', the number '32' and lots and lots of Brooklyn Lager. Enjoy.

Albums you need.

SOME BASIC FACTS, OR, ALL I NEEDED TO KNOW I LEARNED ONLINE: You need to see the South Park movie again. Slayer's Reign in Blood is the best album ever made. Someone will be on the cover of the new SLAM (out in September). Street bikes should have no brake mounts. Gang Starr are still underrated. Beer on tap is better than beer in a bottle. Cans? Only for the cheap stuff (and Guinness Pub Draught). Everyone should have a big grill in their backyard (not that gas crap, either), a hydroed '66 Impala wagon in their garage and a six of Brooklyn in their fridge. iPods are the best invention ever. eBay is addictive. Oh yeah, vote Kerry.

Asparagus isn't as bad as you think it is.

A BRIEF INTERLUDE: Mags. I'll take ANYONE'S Skyway Tuff II's or Peregrine Master Sports, even the neon or pastel ones. E-mail me if you got 'em. Coaster brake, too. And to anyone who thinks mags suck, check this: Kevin Jones essentially invented modern flatland on a Skyway Street Beat with Tuff II's and those skinny-ass, two-and-a-half-inch long Skyway pegs. Matt Hoffman rode mags 'til he was 17. Wilkerson rode mags 'til he left Haro. All the dope San Diego street riders--Eddie Roman, Pete Augustin, Craig Grasso, Craig Reynolds (yeah, so he's English), Vic Murphy, Brad Blanchard--ran mags (buy Ride Like A Man, you'll understand). They never complained. May Hugo Gonzalez live on in your hearts forever.

My STILL unfinished Hutch Trick Star (three-plus years and counting). It's got graphite Tuff Wheels with Campy hubs, old-school Profile cranks, Comp III's, a Kashimax Aero, and Hutch nearly everything else. I would have killed for this bike when I was 14. I even had Aerospeed cranks, but I traded them for a complete Pro Neck National Pro with Flights. I probably should have sold them for $1,500 instead. Oh well.

Keep records alive.

Get Ghostface Killah's Supreme Clientele. Now. And when you figure out what it all means, e-mail me. Please. While you're at it, get Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... too.
