Computer Generated Images to Print Out

Mark Staff Brandl says: "Here are some images produced by my usual processing activity, however this time totally in the computer. As Roman Schuenze and Daniel Ammann have described it, my usual 'procedure ... is more of a modus operandi than a style. Brandl selects a characteristic aspect of the perceptual context and brings it back into our view. He enlarges lines, figures, strokes, or aspects of an image important to him in numerous steps and with a profusion of technologies, e.g. photographing, copying, faxing, computer print-out, etc, etc. Interference, 'noise', mistakes or irregularities come to the fore through this 'microscopying' technique.'
In these images, I did this fully within the computer, but still emphasizing potential mistakes. I sampled an image, pasted into a program, transferred it into another program where it lost resolution, saved that into another form whereby it became less sharp, and so on and on. These works are then presented here, where they are free to be downloaded by my "fans," thereby creating the last computer-processing of the image --- the final result depends on each persons printer. You finish it; I consider each print-out a multiple/print in an unlimited edition. To give it an identifying number, check the counter number of your visit (home page) and write that under the image or on back. I will sign it for you if you insist and if we meet. The title is Multiple Error (for "Fans"): A, B, and C."

Drawing to Print Out

Mark Staff Brandl says: "Here is an image made a bit with the computer, but not solely. I also drew by hand and used several other machines. The work is, I think, quite in the spirit of this "fan club site." It is based on the covers of comic books from the "Golden Age", the 1940s. It is for you to print out at any size of which your printer is capable. The numbering and signing are possible as above. The title is World's Most Exciting (for "Fans")."
