Here's my 1993 Jeep Wrangler with the soft top and me in LBI. This picture was taken a long time ago. These days the hard top is always on. It's too much trouble for me to take the tops off and on twice a year. But that was fun while it lasted.
Thanks to Noreen for taking this picture or I wouldn't have a picture of my Jeep. She insisted we needed one. And that's probably why I don't have a picture of my BMW. Noreen moved away before I got that car. And that's another reason I don't take the hard top off anymore - Noreen isn't around to help me with that either. She's having too much fun in Hawaii now. In case you're wondering who Noreen is, I don't have a picture of her scanned yet. But I will, real soon!
Anyway, back to my Jeep. I got my jeep on May 7, 1993. It was the first car that I bought all by myself. I looked long and hard for this Jeep. I wanted a red Jeep with tan interior and every dealer I first went to did not have it in the specific color combination I required. What a headache! I also wanted a 6 cylinder because I was going to keep this Jeep forever so it had to be just right. I got speakers on the rollbar too. That was the latest thing back then. The Jeep has an alarm as well - I don't know why. But my Jeep does not have air conditioning. At the time, everyone I spoke to said I didn't need air conditioning (MEN!) since I would have the top off anyway. Well, I have to say, this is the only thing I really hate about my Jeep. But I can't complain because the engine runs great, probably because I didn't have the A/C to wear the engine down. I think I have 'nother good 10 years on that engine. I change the oil regularly and I guess as far as Jeeps go - it IS babied. Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to take it off-roading or on the beach (except for doing circles in the parking lot which is all sand at Nardi's for Noreen's pleasure). I almost took the doors off a couple of times - but then something else always came up. So I have a big waiting list of people who want to know when I'm going to sell BIG RED. Financially and realistically speaking, I shouldn't do it - but those 2 door Ford Explorers are looking real nice.
