The
Egyptian Mau Club is a United Kingdom based cat club dedicated to the Egyptian
Mau. The inaugural meeting of the club was held at the National Cat Club Show
in London on Saturday 12th December 1998. The aims of the club are to develop
and promote the Egyptian Mau breed in the UK, and to work towards recognition
of the breed by the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF). As of June
2001 the Egyptian Mau has Preliminary Recognition from the GCCF, and Maus
may now be shown at GCCF shows in the Assessment class for Merit Certifcates.
