In the 1890 Special Veteran's Census, there is a "Orlander F. Middleton" listed, which is probably a misspelling of Orlando's name.
In the 1900 NY,NY census, Orlando & Lidia were residing with two of their children, Edna,16, and Helen, 14. They had had five children, of which only three were still living.
Orlando must have died between 1902, which was the last time he was listed in the NYC City Directory and 1907, when Lydia remarried. Parents: Orlando Avery MIDDLETON and Amelia.

Samuel is buried in Middleton Cemetery in Warrensburg,NY Much of the information concerning the descendants of Samuel and Nancy "Anne" was found in the "Burrows Family" mentioned above. Samuel is said to have moved to Washington Co, NY along with his brother, William, between 1800 (when they were both listed in the New London, CT census) and 1810 (when they were found in the Washington Co, NY census). They both lived there until somewhere between 1820 and 1830 when Samuel is found in the Warren Co,, NY census. Samuel died in Warren Co., and William died in Washington Co. Warren was a part of Washington Co., until 1813.
There was also a Benjamin(1814), Barnet Packer(1820), and Nathanial(1810)
Middleton in Warren Co. in 1859. The only descrepency is that in the 1880
Warren Co, NY census it states that Nathanial's parents were born in Ct.
That is where Samuel was born so that makes it a good assumption that Nathanial
is the son of Samuel. But, according
to the same 1880 Warren Co., NY census the parents of Barnett and William
were born in NY. But FOR THE TIME BEING I am listing these men as sons
of Samuel (William (1)).They were all born in N.Y. and lived in Warren
Co., and AS FAR AS I KNOW Samuel was the only Middleton to move to

Cook Co, IL. and when 9 months old the family moved to Santa Fe, NM because
of Gordon's military service. They then moved to Alexandria, VA and then
Suzan & her mother moved back to Vincennes, IN where Gordon & Jean
were divorced. Suzan & her mother lived in Vincennes until she was
12 (1955) when they moved to Indianapolis, IN. They stayed there until
she was 14 (1957) and in the 8th grade. They then moved to Ft Lauderdale,
FL and she went to Lauderdale HS for her sophmore year, Pompano Beach HS
for her junior year and Stranahan HS where she graduated in June of 1961.
After graduation, Suzan's best friend, Kay Williamson, and she moved to
Jacksonville, FL where she worked in a dental office. In November she joined
the Air Force which was not considered unusual in this familiy even though
she was the first female to join, it was tradition for the men.

The 1810 and 1820 Washington Co. census bear this out, both a William and a Samuel were listed on the same page.

On Williams death certificate it said he was the son of John & Sophie.
There are many circumstances that tie William to New London Co. He returned
there for the death of his daughter and D.B. Middleton is listed on the
death certificate as "next-of-kin". He also was in New London for the 1860
census.(He
was also shown living with John & Sophia in Brooklyn in 1860).
In this 1860 census John says he was born in Ct. These are some of the
things that caused me to call John a son of William (1) and Lucy.
For many years William was the president of Fulton Fish Market in Brooklyn.
In the 1900 Brooklyn census, Elizabeth was a widow living with her children,
Sarah, Floyd D. and Louise, all of whom were single. She states that she
had
borne nine children, six of whom were alive in 1900.
In the 1910 Brooklyn City Directory, Elizabeth "wid of Wm" was living with her daughter, Sarah, at 29 Cambridge Place. When I looked in the 1910 Brooklyn census, I could not locate this family. Parents: John MIDDLETON and Sophia MANDEVILLE.
