POW/MIA Freedom Fighter Greg Hervieux
Greg Hervieux races cars. He began racing Quarter Midget Cars at the age of 10 years old and
always had the POW/MIA sticker on his car and a POW/MIA patch on his uniform.
Before every race a car would go out and round
the track with the American flag during the National
Anthem. Greg asked why the POW/MIA flag was not out
on the track also. At that time, they asked the officials if a car carrying the POW/MIA Flag
could be added to the program and they agreed. (See photo below.)
Greg put his car on display at his local school and was often asked
about the patch on his uniform and the sticker on the car. He would then explain what the meaning of it was
to the students.
Greg has visited the Vietnam Memorial Wall in
Washington D.C. and to the Garden in Arlington. Doing so
gave him a hole new defenition and meaning.
Since that time Greg and his family have moved south and he is now
17 years old. He still has the POW/MIA sticker and patch
on his uniform and has also added it to his helmet. He
is asked alot about it and continues to explain the
reason. He is in the process of having a special
POW/MIA paint scheme done on it for the 2001 season.
The car will also have a new look to it. He is very dedicated to the
POW/MIA Freedom Fighters and would be also happy to do
personal appearances for organizations. Greg can be contacted via email and visit his website at Family Pride Bandolero Racing
Thank you Greg for your continued dedication to our missing heroes ...
We Salute You!
