"Amidst the shadowed desertscapes of the ancient lands. - The dark worshippers of the serpent gather beneath a dark moon. As Shammash sleeps behind the mountains of Akrabu. - The Magick of the 7 Maskim are summoned from the shadows. - I conjure thee, mountains of Mashu, may the Serpent of Kur bring forth destruction. - Come forth from the mountains of Mashu, by the Rites of the 7 Maskim of the seven ignited spheres."
During the Midst of Winter, December XXX Anno Sathanas (1995), Count Vampir
Scorpios of the vampiric black metal act,
Crimson
Moon
, wrote and recorded
five entrancing dirges entitled "Kakos Draconis" (Wicked Dragon) a day
before, on, and after the December full moon during an invocation to a force
known as Mummu-Tiamat or Tehom, dragon of primordial chaos, Goddess of the
Ancient Ones, who layeth beyond the gates.
Akrabu consists entirely of acoustic instruments. No synthesizers are used,
which puts Akrabu into a whole new realm of ritual orchestrations.
The rites within "Kakos Draconis" and the debut cassette album of Akrabu,
"Kispu Ina Ina Nekelmu," are actually recorded from a casted circle and the
deities conjured are real. Embrace the astral realms of the Vampire
Goddess, Tiamat. Through the seas of Absu rise, praise be the blood of the
serpent.
A force known as Akrabu is invoked as well. Akrabu (Scorpion Man) is the
one who dwelleth amongst the mountains. Both these forces are summoned unto
the listener on the Kakos Draconis canticles as well as other dark deities
and demons.
...Those who wish to rise to the realm of the Akrabu, the west gate of the calling shall appear...
Akrabu's debut cassette album on Dark Age Productions is an intitiated
ritual masterwork of Sumerian vampyrism and mythic splendour. Induldge the
ritual atmosphere of the Scorpian god and all the kindred beings within the
craftwork of spells and trance. Non-synthetic sounds produced with
acoustics, voices, chimes, percussives, and effects conglomerate in an
effective musical atmosphere likened to no other project in existence.
