The brigade is entirely comprised of unpaid volunteers who take pride in their highly trained professional fire fighting skills and tactical ability to suppress fire and other emergencies when called upon to do so.
There has been a very active membership over the years with many long serving foundation members still involved on active service within the brigade, whilst others have retired to an associate membership status maintaining their contact with the brigade.

The brigade has had many appliances
over the years, with some now gone on to further service within the organisation
in other rural fire districts. Whilst the newer model trucks are quite
comfortable and modern with luxuries like power steering, air conditioning
and the like, there is not as much character as there was with the older
vehicles such as our old Bedford tanker, the former MH1, pictured
below , with former member " Daggy " Craig Russell on the back, and probably still doing service
with TIBOOBURRA Rural Fire Service, in what can be best described as Australia's
outback. Some members had even visited the old girl in her new habitat.
