I want to take this opportunity to show my appreciation for my
1981 Honda Prelude. No other car in the world could of stood up
to what I have put it through:
All within a 4 year time span. In spite of doing all of this, the thing held together like a champ. Then, around Sep. 1996, it blew. Zipping along at a healthy 4-grand on the tach, I burned up two exhaust valves. Oh, did I forget to mention, there was over 400,000 miles on my car! No kidding! This is why I say I could not of had a more dependable machine. So, six monthes it sat, untill I could afford another engine. I put a used engine in, and it started up the very first turnover! (Note: I put the engine in all by MYSELF, in the middle of a DIRT driveway). I can only attribute this to the awesome engineering and design of Hondas, but mostly to the FACTORY MANUAL. You can order from Helm Publications. But now I am taking care of my prelude more. I have made these improvements:
I am looking for any sources of mods I can do, but not many
support the first generation Prelude. If anyone does know, please
let me know! I'm thinking of lowering (race lowering progressive
type springs), a stiffer front swaybar and matching rear sway
bar.
Please, tell me what you think! [jarredm@usa.net]
