We are still trying to adjust to life back in America. I love the nicer (warmer) weather here in Virginia, but we do miss Europe terribly. Two completely different worlds that we love equally. Ah, if we only had the money to live in both.....
My favorite times of the last 3 years were three major motorcycle trips. The first was from Germany, through the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and into Romania. We came back through Croatia, Slovenia, and then the Alps.
The second was in June of 2000, when Jed and I took a two week trip up through Norway and Sweden, to Nordkapp, which is 300+ miles north of the Arctic Circle. We came back south through Finland and into Russia. From St. Petersburg (nee Leningrad), we then rode south through Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and into Poland. From there it was a little R&R in Prague, CZ and then home to Germany. That was a real adventure tour!
Teresa's and my final swan song was a 3 week ride down to the Balkans. Yes, my lovely bride rode with me thru a not so recently past war zone. We went over the Alps, sojourned across Italy (Tuscany is everything they say it is), then ferried to Croatia. Road south along the coast of Dalmatia, thru Bosnia, to Dubrovnik. Even took a day trip into Montenegro, Yugoslavia. I have not taken the time to post that journal yet, but it will be up soon! You can find the first two journals (and pictures) in my European Trip Journals.
I am very proud to say that my journal of the trip thru Scandinavia and Russia was just selected as one of three grand prize winners in the BMW Motorcycles "2001 Ride of the Year" Great Rides Competition. You can find out more about it, and how to enter next year's contest at the national BMW Motorcycles web page.

Thank you to all who have contacted me with questions. I love helping people find that special BMW for their family or friends. I'm still slowly adding to the stock. Have discovered German flea markets on the weekends. I'm now trying to branch out into early 1930's to 1940's composition motorcycles, and 1930's to 1950's tin motorcycle toys. I have added quite a few tin toy motorcycles recently and they are really neat.
I've been a BWM motorcycle toy collector (fanatic?) long before I actually came into possession of the real thing. My first BMW toy motorcycle was a Matchbox SuperKings R100RS complete with the rider. Had it for years before I bought my first big bike. Now I have five "real" BMW motorcycles ('01 R1150GS, '96 K1100RS, '92 K75S, '84 K100, and '66 R50/2), and a boatload of little ones. Thanks to my wife's internet business I've become aware of the best way to share my passion for BMW toys. You're welcome to browse my collection, and if you're of the same type of mental illness, drop me a line! I didn't start doing this for profit, but have been forced to realize that it is a very expensive addiction. That is why I've decided to start selling some of the more unique bikes I have found. If you collect BMW motorcycle toys, or have one that I don't and want to make a deal, please let me know. I have many collector friends all over the world and have access to most of the ones shown. If you want one, I'll let you know what it should cost on the market and try to help you get it (if I don't have an extra one already).
