15th Czech Centre Invader Rally
26th to 28th May 2000
| About the Rally | The Rally is held annually at the end of May
in the village of Chudcice near Brno in Southern Moravia. The rally is pre-book and this must be done by May 1st 2000 to ensure that local B&B accommodation is reserved for you. There is also camping available in Chudcice. Mr Benda invites all members of the Suzuki Owners Club to the rally and also riders of Suzuki motorcycles from other clubs and of course, Suzuki riding individuals. During the course of the rally there are rides out to places of interest, and most usually a visit to a former public roads race circuit. On Saturday evening there is a dinner in the Rally-Inn and it is here that the rally awards are handed out to the winners. The Czech Centre also have commemorative Czech Centre t-shirts for sale to visiting riders. |

| How to get there? | Chudcice is situated above the northern end
of Brno Lake to the north-east of the main Prague to Brno
motorway about 15 miles north-west of Brno city. Getting to the Czech Republic will take around two days on the road, depending on the ferry crossing you choose you may need one or two stops. The most direct route from the Channel ports is via the motorways of Belgium and Germany taking in the A3 to Nurnberg, and then across to the new Czech motorway near to Rozvadov. German and Czech motorways are toll-free for motorcycles. Cedok, the Czech Travel Agency in the UK, has been recommending motorcyclists to buy the motorway toll stickers. These are not necessary. A longer route that takes in the former Eastern Germany is via the A3 & A4 autobahns to Dresden and then down to Prague. This route is slightly further but the motorway allows you to travel further in the first day of being on the continent. I would advise anyone to invest in a new road map of the Czech Republic before setting out. As for accommodation en-route, I would further suggest that you join your country's Youth Hostel Association. YH accommodation across Europe is cheap and clean. If you plan to stay in Prague at all, the Hotel Standart is part of the Czech YHA and B&B is a mere £10 per night. Try finding that quality in a popular city like Prague elsewhere..... you could always sleep in the park! |
| Motorcycle Security | The Czech Republic is no different to any
other European country. You need to take the same precautions as you would when leaving your bike in London or Manchester or Birmingham at home! You would be well advised to take U-locks and disc locks and arm the alarm if one is fitted. Leaving any soft luggage on the bike when you leave it is just as hazardous as at home. |
