We arrived in Playa de Carmen at 7am on Tuesday the 11th of May. We went by bus to the Myan Ruins of Tulem. We saw beautiful beaches and ancient temples. We saw crystal blue water and some very old graves. We even saw or almost missed seeing a couple of lizards hanging on a cliff. We returned to the ship after a very fun and informative trip to the ruins. Did you know that Tulem actually means "stinking ground"? It does, because it very near some water that is like a swamp and at times it doesn't smell to nice.
When we got back to the ship we ate, and took a suicidal taxi ride ($5.00 a car load)   into town. The taxi drivers driver very fast and wreckless. All the stores want your money and they will try to talk you into their stores. We found that most stores were honest but one store was a rip off and we caught them. They did not honor what their own sign said, so we kept our money.
There was a young man on the dock that was making paintings with spray cans. It was remarkable how he made those p[aintings, we bought two, and I use them for my desk top. There is a link to the paintings in a smaller size, but if you want them for desktops email me and I will send them to you.
