Marty Cook was born in New York. He was active in the New York "Loft Jazz" scene of the 70's, during which time he worked with

Joe Lee Wilson, Sam Rivers big band, Monty Waters, Jeanne Lee, Ted Daniel, Jay Clayton, and others.

He played in various jazz, Latin and rock groups on both the East and West Coast. In Europe, Cook has worked with

Günther Klatt, Paul Grabowsky, Jim Pepper, Charlie Haden's Liberation Orchestra, Gunter Hampel, Mal Waldron, embryo, der Rote Bereich, Barbara Dennerlein, and others.

Mr. Cooks groups have toured througout Europe, playing clubs, concerts, festivals,radio, and television. He has toured Marocco, Turkey, and played in Beirut, Libanon.
