This happens in British Columbia, at our Universities and
at our Research Facilities. They'll tell you that Canada has
the highest standards of laboratory animal protection of
anywhere in the world. Just who oversees these standards?

The Scientific Community
Itself!

More and more doctors and even scientists are stepping
forward to challenge the continued use of animals in
research, given the often disastrous results of applying
findings from one species to another.
|
- "If we halted research using animals today the
results would be immediate
and beneficial." Dr.
Robert S. Mendelsohn, (Confessions of a Medical Heretic)
- "Animal models differ from their human counterparts.
Conclusions drawn
from animal research. . . delay
progress, mislead and do harm to the patient. Animal
experimentation inevitably leads to human
experimentation." Dr. Moneim A. Fadali, (Heart
Research on Animals by Brandon Reines)
- "I abhor vivisection. . . . It should be abolished.
I know of no achievement
through vivisection, no
scientific discovery, that could not have been obtained
without such barbarism and cruelty. The whole thing is
evil." Dr. Charles Mayo, Co-Founder, Mayo Clinic
(New York Daily News, 3/13/61)

Rock And let him know you'd like your tax dollars to be
spent on more appropriate, ethical and scientifically
