Information regarding SLE is however scant and we hope to fill in this information gap.

SLE is a chronic illness afflicting many Malaysian women. It is a life-long disease rather like diabetes mellitus and hypertension. SLE is characterised by periods of remissions and exacerbations and patients sometimes have to cope with debilitating complications and medications with some side-effects.
