A Malaysian Resource

More people are becoming aware of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) as a disease entity. Information regarding SLE is however scant and we hope to fill in this information gap. This Web resource is dedicated to all patients with SLE and their relatives, friends and care-givers.

Typical butterfly Rash of SLE. This is likened to the bite of a "wolf" the latin of which is "lupus".

SLE is a chronic illness afflicting many Malaysian women. It is a life-long disease rather like diabetes mellitus and hypertension. SLE is characterised by periods of remissions and exacerbations and patients sometimes have to cope with debilitating complications and medications with some side-effects. The information below is largely adapted from the pamphlet produced by the Malaysian SLE association.
