VIOLET TREECE

HIGH IN THE MOUNTAIN CLIFFS, AN EAGLE BUILDS HER NEST....

The above words are the first line from one of the most powerful songs ever written...The Eagle Song. These words were penned from the heart of a gracious and beautiful woman and they have touched many people.

That woman was Violet Treece.

Violet lived in Knoxville, TN and was vocalist for the group Cedar Ridge. She was diagnosed with cancer and rather than give up on life, she rejoiced in the Lord during the time she had left to her.

She told me that when she didn't feel like doing anything, she studied different things that interested her. One of the topics that she picked was the eagle. This led to The Eagle Song

Eagles became a symbol for Violet because they don't give up when they are hurting or injured. They protect their young with a fierceness that few animals possess.

Just like our heavenly father protects and shelters us.

We may get down physically or mentally but God is always there watching over us like the mother eagle watches her babies.

AND JUST LIKE THAT EAGLE, WHEN MY BACK IS TO THE WALL...I GO TO THE ROCK OF MY SALVATION...HE'LL SEE ME THROUGH IT ALL....

Violet clung to that rock and he saw her through to the very end...or the very beginning. She has made the journey and is now soaring with the father.

AND SOME DAY SOON I'LL TAKE A FLIGHT...FAR ABOVE THE WORLD BELOW...AND WHEN I HEAR THAT TRUMPET SOUND, I'LL BE READY TO GO. I'LL DROP MY WEIGHTS AND THEN I'LL RISE FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE...THAT I DON'T NEED THE WINGS OF AND EAGLE WHEN HE SETS MY SPIRIT FREE...

Violet, he set your spirit free last year. You heard the trumpet and now you are home with all the others. We miss you and love you and we'll see you there.

We would like to announce the creation of
The Violet Treece Memorial Fund
The proceeds from this fund will be used to help young people achieve their goals of entering the music ministry by training them on a musical instrument or vocal training. These things can be expensive and many young people do not have the opportunity to pursue their musical dreams because they simply can not afford to. If you would like to make a donation to the fund or would like more information, please contact:
