The Descendants and Ancestors of Thomas L. Holt

Thomas L. Holt b. 1824 in Tennessee d. July 7, 1862 in Howards Grove Hospital as a result of a wound received at Gaines Mill on June 27 during the Seven Days Battle just outside of Richmond VA. He was a 2nd Lt. in the Mississippi 19th - Panola Invincibles. Thomas was the son of William N. HOLT and Martha RIDLEY. Thomas was probably born in Williamson Co. Tn and was raised in Hickman Co. near Centerville. Thomas' immigrating forefather was Hans Michael Holt(Hold)

m. Flora Anna KYLE b. 1828 in Ky d. ?

Thomas and Flora married in Dickson County on January 07, 1847. By 1849 they were in Lafayette County Ms. He is found in the 1850 census living with his sister Mrs. Mary M. Carothers. She was a widow and his occupation is listed as overseer. It is believed that he and Flora moved to Mississippi to help his sister with her plantation. Later they moved to Springport community in Panola County Ms.
