PAMLICO ANIMAL HOSPITAL

  • Animals at the Tar River and Pamilco Animal Hospitals have been wormed and have had their shots. The fee for adoping a cat or kitten is $25. Dogs and puppies will cost $40. This fee includes the cost of having the pet spayed or neutered when it reaches an appropriate age.


    Donations of towels and blankets would be greatly appreciated with the colder months up and coming. Donated items may be dropped off at Pamlico Animal Hospital.

  • Animals may be seen during regular business hours, which are Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4:30 p.m. and on Fridays from 1 - 4:30.
  • The adoption fee is $5 with a $50 spay and neuter deposit for dogs and a $30 spay and neuter deposit for cats.
  • Animals at the shelter have not been wormed and have not had their shots. This is the responsibility of the person adopting the pets.
         
  • The donation of aluminum cans would be appreciated and can be dropped at the shelter any time.

    The Williamston Veterinary Hospital is located just north of Downtown Williamston on Highway 125. For information on the fostering program, contact PAWS at 252/792-3000.


  • Before being accepted into the PAWS program, pets are carefully screened for feline leukemia, canine heartworm disease, parasite infestations and personality disorders. Before being place on the adoption list, pets are examined by Dr. Harlow, vaccinations and deworming given, puppies are started on heartworm prevention. Adoption fees cover spay/neuter surgeries and the first puppy or kitten vaccinations. Phone 252/792-3000.

    Be advised: Washington's Animal Control Ordinance already in effect. Owners of dogs or cats in violation of the city's new Ordinance are subject to a $25 fine for each day of the violation. Complaints should be directed to the Police Dept. at 946-1444.
