I am searching for information on the John LLEWELLYN line. I am descended via Mary LLEWELLYN who married Benjamin BOWERS,Jr. of Pitt Co. They lived near Bethel and Grindle creek. I am looking for information on Benjamin BOWERS, Sr. who was a resident and taxpayer of Beaufort county until 1760 when he became a resident of Pitt Co. Benjamin BOWERS Sr., Pitt County Commissioner 1760, Sheriff of Pitt Co. 1774 - 1778, died circa 1800. Benjamin BOWERS, Jr. married Mary LLEWELLYN (dau of John LLEWELLYN on Martin county) died circa 1797. Benjamin BOWERS (III) born circa 1777 in Pitt Co. married Nancy?, moved to Georgia in the early 1820's. Also Ephraim Willis who lived in southern Pitt Co and northern Craven Co. moved to Georgia circa1805.

Searching for information on Lazarus PEARCE of Jones Co. (Craven, Lenoir?) His son Joseph married Elizabeth HARRISON in Jones Co. There are several wills from Beaufort Co that mention Lazarus Pearce, plus a Lazarus and a Joseph Pearce appear on Beaufort Co tax lists for 1764, 1779 and 1786 (according to notes from a professional genealogist). Since the counties changed boundaries several times (Beaufort, Jones, Craven, Lenoir and Pitt).

LOOKING FOR INFORMATION ON WILLIAM BRANTLEY JACKSON BORN 1756 IN NORTH CAROLINA AND MARRIED TO MARY JANE CLARK. SON IS POSSIBLY HENRY JACKSON BORN 1786 AND HENRY'S WIFE POLLY. HENRY AND POLLY MIGRATED TO GEORGIA WHERE RUEBEN A JACKSON WAS BORN IN 1816. JACKSON FAMILY FINALLY SETTLED IN TEXAS. I LIVE IN TEXAS AND WOULD APPRECIATE ANY INFORMATION REGARDING MY ANCESTORS. I believe Isom Jackson was Henry's brother. Beaufort County is what I was told. My grandmother was related to Henry's side. My grandfather was related through a William and Lydia Starr from North Carolina. William born about 1786 and died in 1845 in Hardin County, Tn. His wife and children came on to Texas after he died. I believe his wife was Lydia born about 1800. I was looking over some Jackson paperwork and found a letter from a James Jackson who said his great great grandfather "Isom" was born 1804 in Beaufort County. Henry was born in 1786. It appears the Jackson, Starrs, Clarks and maybe Hendersons migrated together. I am researching that. Isom's wife was Betty or Elizabeth was born around 1809 in NC. I wonder if Henry was Isom's uncle. Do you have information on both there in Beaufort and Hyde Counties? I haven't heard anything of the earlier Jacksons. Someone had said William Brantly and Mary Clark, but nothing came of it. Mary Chapman THANKS.

I am seeking information on the Lilly family. In 1840 there was an 18 woman in Wayne County, NC named Susan Lilly. She was not married. she was still in Wayne County in 1850. She was not in the county in 1860, nor can I find her name elsewhere. There are no other members of the Lilly family. Quite a few early settlers of Wayne County came from Beaufort County, NC. I have seen in early census records that there were a few Lilly families in that county. Can anyone help me determine where Susan Lilly came from, who her parents were, etc.?

I am particularly interested in MAJOR THOMAS SPARROW, who it turns out is my first cousin three times removed. I think that I have pieced together his family, but I am not completely sure. I am researching the Shine families of eastern North Carolina which was my Mother's family. I have traced back to William Shine (b. about 1755,d. about 1800). There is considerable data on the Shine family in New Bern (Craven County) as well as Jones, Duplin counties. My Mother's family is from Pamlico County area. I can not establish linkage from this William Shine to the New Bern Shines. There are considerable records linking Daniel Shine (b. in Ireland, arriving New Bern about 1705) to Dawson's Creek in Pamlico County. Daniel Shine was a Justice of the Peace.
