The Shippee Family Discussion List (SHIPPEE-L) began in June 1997. It is an email discussion list open to anyone who has an interest in the genealogy or history related to the Shippee family, including Scheppe, Sheppe, Shippey, Shippie, Shippy, or any other spelling.

The list is hosted by David Sylvester (davids@agate.net) of Searsport, Maine. For those of you new to email and the internet, it costs nothing to join this discussion list. The purpose is to provide a forum where people with a common interest can share ideas and information.

The list is available in both a regular and digest mode. In regular mode, individual messages from other subscribers posted to the discussion list will arrive in your email inbox as separate messages. In digest mode, the messages are grouped together and sent as a single message on a daily basis or more often, if necessary. The volume of messages on a surname list such as SHIPPEE-L can vary with periods of no activity to other times when many messages may be posted on a daily basis.

Subscribing

To subscribe to SHIPPEE-L, send an email message to:

or for the digest:

shippee-d-request@rootsweb.com

and simply put the text:

subscribe

without any other text in the body of the message. You will receive a welcome message in response with further details on posting messages to the list. Announcements concerning future updates to the Shippee, Shippey, Shippy Genealogy page will be posted to the discussion list.
