Family History Societies*
Federation
of Family History Societies Online #- To celebrate 30 years
of the Federation, this new website meets the challenges of
the Internet. There are 22 million records which can be searched
by name. Initial searches are free but transcripts of the full record
cost a small fee. The cost of searching is very low [some as low
as 6-7p] for a 5 pound sterling minimum outlay [lasts six months].
There are county databases for marriages, census's, headstones and strays
[those born in a different county to the one they were recorded in
for the census]. Some counties are not yet involved but the site is growing.
This is not a commercial organisation therefore it is good value, all
monies are used for the benefit of Family History Societies
