The first edition of Bo Bengtson´s award-winning book THE WHIPPET, published in England, was called "a bible", "a model breed book" and "a masterpiece" by reviewers. It sold out several years ago.
The latest edition, so much larger that it´s almost an entirely new book, consists of 217 pages with 154 illustrations, many in color, and 46 pedigrees, with comprehensive treatment of all aspects of the Whippet world-wide.
The book has been hailed as a classic. In her Dog News review, Deborah Lawson called it "a Ferrari among dog books" and "one of the best-written perhaps the very best-written among the several hundred dog books I have read." She continued:
"Like the breed it celebrates, THE WHIPPET is enchanting and steals your heart. Invaluable to the serious breeder, judge or first-time buyer Beautiful to behold and a joy to read. Such perfect taste in design, typography and literary composition are rare in canine literature."
Gretchen Bernardi wrote in her review in Canine Chronicle:
"This book is beautiful enough to be on your coffee table (out of puppys reach), comprehensive enough to be used as a reference book, and entertaining enough to be read again and again."
