New Zealand Maori Costume for Fashion Dolls

I have great pleasure in presenting you with my Fashion costume for Doll collectors. If you collect the "Dolls of the World " series, this costume will appeal to you. It has won a "Blue Ribbon" in a July 1999 USA competition. It has been featured in an August 1998 article in the popular Barbie doll collectors magazine "Barbie Bazaar" . It is unique, and ethnic - an authentic likness of the Traditional Maori Costume. The costume is carefully created and produced here in New Zealand, and available for collectors all over the World direct from this site.

The costume consists of a close fitting bodice overlaid in traditional design braid. The grass skirt is made from genuine flax grasses with a red fabric underskirt and braiding waistband. The feather cloak is amazing. It is really beautiful. No two are alike. It is made from feathers laid by hand in a intricate pattern on a hessian backing with a braid tie. If you have a preference for lighter or darker feathering, please specify. Accessories are a headband, an imitation "greenstone" tiki necklace, and poi- flax balls used in traditional action songs. The costume comes to you beautifully displayed and packaged .

I have expanded my original costume to include adorable 'Kelly" size costumes! If you collect tiny dolls, or just love cute things, this costume makes such an ideal addition to any collection . It is a tiny pint sized version of the "Barbie" one. It also comes beautifully gift packaged with accessories and local information. This is just so cute !! Cost $15 USD ( plus postage)

I have been delighted with the response on my Maori costume. Doll collectors who have seen it, have fell in love with it and ordered others for their dolls. I make up the costumes to order, so you can be assured the production is limited and your costume will be Unique !! Collectors requested the costume be adapted for Kelly , and now Ken has his own version of the mens Maori costume. His accessories are a blackened dyed spear, more braiding and once again that wonderful feather cloak, just his size !! His costume comes gift packaged and sells for $30 USD. ( plus postage ) This can be ordered individually and will be made to order or as a matching set for your fashion dolls.
