White River Journal Des Arc, Prairie Co, Arkansas, March 10, 1910. DIED-On Saturday March 5th, Mrs. Adeline LEE, after an illness of long duration, and a life or more than 70 years, answered the call of her Redeemer and passed from earth to a home beyond the skies. It is with deep regret that we chronicle the death of this, our grand-mother, but we realize that the God gives and God takes away. She was a resident of Des Arc for more than 50 years, being one of her oldest citizens. She was a firm believer in Christ and a was at the time of her death a member of the Baptist church at this place. To one who remained loyal to her husband and the household caring for her little ones, during the war 49 years ago, while the venerable husband-T.V. LEE-long since deceased, devoted his time of four years making a record unsurpassed by any volunteer, there remains a memory of hardships and privations endured only by those mothers who are now so few, a warm feeling and tender recollections that will live in the minds of those she leaves behind. She leaves a brother, three daughters, three sons, and many friends to mourn her sad demise. Her life was an open book and worthy of emulation, for she was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was laid to rest in Lakeside cemetery Sunday evening in the presence of many relatives and friends. Rev. E.C. Bingham conducted the funeral services.
