I'm really glad you have come. The poem I want to share with you is about Loons; well, it's really about how we are created uniquely by God's design. I hope you will allow me to share my heart before you wander off. Poetry is the music of the heart - and for reasons known only to God, poetry flows through me and I feel compelled to share it. To help you visualize, I wanted you to see what a Loon looks like. They are magnficent, unique, beautiful, but as they say, "A picture is worth a thousand words." |

Now that you know what a Loon looks like, . . . May I please ask you a question?
Have you ever felt like God made a mistake? I used to feel that way all the time! I used to wish I'd never been born. I was an unwanted child - before abortion was legal. Now, all that has changed. I'm glad it wasn't legal and I wish it wasn't legal now.
GOD NEVER MAKES MISTAKES. He is the Author of life. HE HAS A PLAN FOR MY LIFE; FOR YOURS!
Loons are shy creatures; a peculiar variety of water fowl. They are unique in design; just like YOU and ME! If you could see a Loon out of water, you would probably think, "Now, there's a mistake of Creation!" But remember, God NEVER makes mistakes!
A Loon can't walk and would die on dry land. Their legs are set too far back on their body; it's impossible for them to balance their weight on land. They have web feet and are powerful swimmers. The female builds her nest on the water's edge so she can push herself up on it with her "awkward" legs.
Learning about God's creation has helped me realize that things that seem peculiar are by His design; even in life. That fact has helped me in learning to trust God.
We should never be afraid to be all He wants us to be. Don't let anyone tell you that you are a mistake. God made you and He never makes junk: He created us in His image, His likeness and the Lord only wants what is best for us; Where He guides, He provides.

At times, I have felt there was no one out there; That I was alone, there was no one to care; That there was no plan or design for my life; It just seemed to me that living was strife!
When I felt despondent, I would stroll by the lake And wonder if my life was just a mistake. The myriad of stars far off in the sky Raised so many questions; I kept wondering, "Why?"
In the darkness one night, just the light of the moon, An odd sounding call; it was the call of a Loon. She sounded so forlorn; the light was so dim; The sunlight now lost; by the night was hemmed in.
That night, in the moonlight, so eerie and still, I heard a voice whisper, "Child, surrender your will? I'm here, My child, though you think you're alone, And I'm walking beside you by the light of the moon."
A gentle wind blew and it rustled the leaves While the other night sounds slipped away on the breeze. "The loon seems alone as she swims on the lake, But she is not alone and her design's no mistake."
The voice came again in tones soft and low, "I love you, My child, and I want you to know: I planned you before the world had begun. I love you so much that I gave My own Son."
"I created the Loon with unique design; She seems awkward to you, but My way's divine. On the land, she'd be lost, soon wither and die, But she has power to swim and strength to fly."
"She dives, deep, in the water, in search of a meal, And rises again with a fish in her bill. She returns to her nest and waddles astride, And her young, who are hungry, push in close to her side."
"If you could observe the Loon's tender care For the chicks in her nest, as she's willing to share What I have provided; it's life to the Loon - - You'd see My design by the light of the moon."
"Child, when it's dark and the light seems lost; Remember your worth, that I counted the cost. For I have designed you - - and I will provide. I'll guide every step, so come close to My side!"
As He spoke, it grew darker, but then came the dawn! The Son rose within me; all the shadows were gone. I was never alone, He was there every night, And now the Son shines with power and might.
He knew me before the worlds had begun, But now, I know Him; there is life in the Son. When I hear the call, now, of the Loon on the lake, I know He has made us; He makes no mistake.
