SMITH CEMETERY
The Smith Cemetery is north of Armstrong's Ford in Belmont, NC. It is in the South Point area on Belwood Drive. It is named after the person with the oldest grave named Smith. It contains the graves of Armstrongs, Leepers, Smiths and others from the Armstrong Ford area. Only Armstrongs are listed below.
John Armstrong, died May 4, 1875

Matthew Armstrong, died June 21, 1838, age 76 (born 1762 son of John Armstrong of Armstrong's Ford)

On a double headstone are the following:
      1. Polly Armstrong, died April 19, 1807, age 23 years (born 1784)
      2. George Armstrong, died April 9, 1793, Age 2 years (born 1791)

John Armstrong, died May 17, 1822, age 37 years 1 month and 14 days (born 1785)

Margaret Armstrong, died May 27, 1829, age 77 years (born 1752)

Matthew Armstrong, died August 28, 1830, age 21 years (born 1809)

Ruth Armstrong, died November 1, 1834, age 19 years 6 months and 21 days (born 1815)

Martha B. Armstrong, died February 18, 1835, age 4 years 1 month and 17 days (born 1831)

ARMSTRONG CEMETERY (MATTHEW)
The Armstrong Cemetery is locatted on 300 yards off of Lineberger Road (near Lowell, NC) near the power lines. The site is at the edge of the woods.
