Homemade Paper

You will need
recycling bin paper (junk mail or old school notices)
An old blender (your mom okays you to use)
water
Old nylons
A hanger ( a baby clothes one works nicely)
lots of towels (your mom says you can use)
old plastic container (yogurt or margarine work)
a bowl that your hanger can balance on
optional items
craft scissors with decorative cut
bits of yarn or ribbon, thread
razzle dazzles, sequins
fun shape hole punch
the paper bits cut with the fun hole punch
cooling rack

Method:
Cut the bottom out of the plastic container. Stretch the old nylons over your hanger tightly and secure it with a knot. (One pair of nylons can do several hangers.) Set up your blender and place your hanger on your bowl. place one folded towel on the work space and have a second folded towel ready. (One towel will do if it is big enough to fold over the top of your hanger as well as be under it.) Choose your paper about twice the size of the hole in the plastic container and rip it into small pieces. Place the pieces in the blender. Add enough water for the paper bits to float. Put the lid on the blender and turn on the blender. Blend until the paper is all mushy. Now add the optional bits to decorate your paper if you like. Place the plastic container on the hanger over the bowl and press down firmly. Pour the paper pulp into the plastic container all at once. Rearrange any decorative bits that you need to move around making sure they are still topped with some of the pulp. now remove the plastic container and place the hanger on the towel. place the second layer of towel on top and press down hard to get the water out of your paper. remove the top towel carefully and flip the paper on to a drying service (a cooling rack or a dry towel). When it's dry cut it with the craft scissors or staple together to make a note pad. You can make a little bookcover or a picture frame too.
