Troop 1 is the oldest troop in Southeast
Alaska.
Founded in 1917, Troop 1 is celebrating its
81st anniversary this year.
First United Methodist Church of Ketchikan
is our sponsor.

is United States Coast Guard Lieutenant Patrick Clark.
Lt. Clark is the Supervisor of the U.S. Coast Guard
Marine Safety Detachment in Ketchikan, AK.

A Word from the Scoutmaster
Be Prepared
The end is character with purpose.
Just like Saint George of old, the Boy Scouts of today
fight against evil and unclean. There is no religious side of
the movement; the whole of it is based upon religion.
As a Scout, you are obligated to do at least one good turn every day.
You can smile at the rain if you have pitched your tent properly.
Scouts learn endurances in the open. Like explorers, they carry their own burdens and "paddle their
own canoes".
A scout is clean in thought, word and deed.
The scout movement is a world-wide brotherhood.
A boy learning what he can as a scout, has a good chance in the world.
So remember, Obey the Scout Law. If you live your life according to the Scout Law and Oath
then you will find that life can be a very enjoyable thing.
