The WindDance Series: Dual line parafoil stunt kites, by
Seattle Air Gear in
Seattle, Washington. If you haven't tried out one of these
unbelievable and versatile kites then don't! If you do
you won't be able to put it down!
I bought the WindDance 3 for my little girl,
Chelsea. It was supposed to be a fun flexfoil type of
kite, which doesn't mind crashing and hasn't any sticks to worry
about breaking. It is by far one of the most enjoyable foil kites
I've ever experienced. The kite comes packed in a bag about 3
1/2" in diameter and about 18" in length, A nice small package
carrying an explosion of fun inside.
|
|
When you pull out the kite, it is unrolled to release a foil type
kite that is about the size of a 8' Flexi. The first noticeable
thing is the wildest looking bridle you've ever seen. It's
bridled from one side to the other and crisscrosses itself on the
other side. You have to see it to fully understand. There is a
color coded tow point, which the bridle is moored to until you are
ready to hook on the flying lines. This is a Great Idea!
The Bridle does not get messed up between flying times! They can
also be used for attaching tails if you want to do some
skywriting!

|
Once it's setup you launch and off it goes with the agility and
ease of the best ultralight. Once in the power window, you feel
like you're ready to jump on a buggy and take on Wildwood's Best
Buggiers. * Grin *  You can do precision type tricks,
such as box's, circles, triangles, dice, and even some perfect 90
degree angles! Go ahead! Try and do an axle! Ha Ha! Yeah right!
You can't, but you can do a wild looking deflate. You pull hard,
snap it, and it goes right back to full inflation, tearing across
the window again. This kite is wild. to say the
least, and a barrel of fun.

|
I loaned it to some newbies out on the field and they were flying
solo within 5 minutes! Then of course, they were hooooooked on
kiting! I had them take the kite down into a nose dive, full
force, and crash it to help them understand that you can't hurt
this kite. The break-in instructions that come with this kite
tell you to do this at least 10 times to help it flu better right
away!!! The Maker guarantees the kite not to blow out a cell and
also guarantees the bridle.

The WindDance 3 is the biggest of the 3 sizes sold. To
me it's the most versatile. It's a lot of fun to fly in low to
medium winds, but becomes a wild thang in the higher winds. Also,
it's one of the best small buggy engines I've ever used, with
tremendous edge control and speed! Wind range advertised is 3 to
30 mph, Price about $150.
|
|
The WindDance 2 is probably rhe best buy for most other
kiters, if you don't like a possible buggy engine with a split
personality. It's excellent in high winds, with total control
without the maximum pull. It has a good flying capability in
low/mid to very high winds. Wind range advertised is 4 to 30 mph,
Price about $125.
|
|
The WindDance 1 is the smallest of the three models and
is very responsive in the medium to very, very high wind range.
It does not have any real pull in the highest of winds, but is
extremely controllable and a lot of fun. This one could be
comparable to the Flexi Hot Shot, but is a little larger in size.
(I think a lot more controllable and a lot easier to fly for the
inexperienced). Wind range advertised is 5 to 30 mph, Price
about $100.

|
The big thing about these kites is they are the most controllable
kites for their size and type. Big fun and controllable to the
point of not believing your eyes at what these things can do!!! No
kite bag should be without one of these. You will find yourself
flying these kites more than most others.
