Powers: Vast Psionic powers. Such as telepathic and telekinetic abilities that allows her to levitate herself, other people and other objects.

Three-year old Heather Douglas was traveling to Los Angeles with her parents in the family car when they were attacked by the mad Titanian Eternal Thanos. Her parents were killed outright, although her father Authur Douglas was later resurected by Mentor, leader of the Titanian Eternals, as the superhuman Drax the Destroyer. As for Heather, Mentor transported her to Titan, where she was raised and trained by the Titanian monks of Shao-Lom. Under their guidance she mastered her

vast latent psionic powers and became a formidably skilled martial artist. The monks intended her to be a candidate for the role of the Celestial Madonna, the women destined to bear a child who would change the destiny of the cosmos.

But Heather proved to be an imperfect choice. She turned egotistical and arrogant after driving off the malevolent cosmic entity known as the Dragon of the Moon, and took the name Moondragon in commemoration of her victory. But she had not truly one, for the Dragon secretly exerted its corrupted influence over her mind.

When Thanos attacked Titan, Moondragon fled to Earth, where she aided the Avengers and Captain Marvel in defeating him. A short time later she encountered the Avengers again, only to learn that Mantis had been chosen to be the Celestial Madonna, not her. However Moondragon then became a provisional member of the Avengers on Iron Man's suggestion, and remained on active duty for many months before turning reservist.

The other Avengers were undoubtedly relieved that she did not choose full active membership, since her arrogance and contempt for those she considered less godlike than herself had grated on the teamates' nerves. A compulsive trouble-maker, she convinced Thor to leave the Avengers and later castigated him and the other Avengers for opposing the insane would-be god Korvac. Later, as a show of power, she psionicly forced numerous super humans to apply for Avengers membership.

Finally Moondragon mentally enslaved the population of the planet Ba-Banis and Thor as well, manipulating her fellow Avengers into serving her tyrannical ends, and even killing her father Drax. (although he was again resurrected later). Outraged, Thor turned the self styled goddess over to Odin, the monarch of the Norse gods, for punishment.

Over the following months Moondragon reformed under the watchful eyes of the Defenders, but she fell victim to lethal spores, and surrendered herself to the Dragon of the Moon to save her life. Now thoroughly under his influence, Moondragon attacked the Defenders only to be incinerated in combat with them.

But this was not the end of Moondragon. She managed to project her consciousness first into her cousin, Pamela Douglas,and then into a new body cloned from her original one. Free at last of the Dragon's control, Moondragon rejoined the Avengers as a reservist. However, she has since become a member of the Infinity Watch.

Now, she is called to Earth (probably by the "higher powers that be" or by her own psionic powers). She will begin to become a mentor to Captain Marvel, teaching him how to understand his cosmic sense. Also, she has a new costume.
