U.S. Navy Photo If you are interested in administrative work, the medical field, combat systems, or electronics, then this is the place to start. Length of technical schools may range from a few months up to two years. Training at a school that is two years in length will require that you extend for those two years at sea, giving you a total of a six-year enlistment.
