Mars Lander Upscale Project
A 2x Upscale of the Classic Estes kit from the late 1960's. This project is based on the semi-kit offered by Tango Papa. Although Tom Prestia offers a very basic starting point to build a 2x upscale version of the kit there is much room for modifications and improvements. This particular model has a 38mm motor mount and is intended for High Power motors (H123). Tom has recently updated his kit and provides a much more complete bill of material. Some of the ideas from my lander have been incorporated into his new kit. Check out Tom's web site for Lander kits and custom reproduction decals.

My version consists of modular sections and is intended to disassemble for ease of repair and maintenence. The Lander is completed and awaits its first flight. Finished weight is 4lbs dry. It  descends under a single 72" chute with the nose cone coming down under it's own 24" chute. Altitude using am H123 is about 650'

Please enjoy the pictures. This rocket was fun to build and is a real crowd please
