Bo's Baja

This is my baja its a 74 std. bug I got from a guy for $300. It had a motor but it was in 4 boxes and scattered through the car (which by the way didn't have any interior .The seats are from a Chevy Spectrum. It wasn't a Baja when I got it .I got a Bug Eye baja  kit from a friend of mine a and a stinger for $40.00 and my hood . Those are the stock fenders on the back that I modified a little with my grinder.

The car is in pretty good shape when I got it. A lot of people frowned when I whipped ot the grinder with a cut off wheel but a baja is what I have always wanted .I have never owned a VW before so I knew nothing about them so on the way home I stoped at the local Autozone and bought a Haynes manual. So with that and a lot of praying I got the old beast running. I have some plans for it like new shocks on all 4 corners and some new tires. Currently the fronts are 165's and the rears are 255's  and maybe a paint job not sure on that yet. But I would also like to make a rollcage . and maybe a light bar or roof rack.  I made a few things for it check them out.

The dash is an old running board that I shaped with a mallet

This is my front bumper it took a few hours to weld up. I have a skid plate I made but its not on yet
