Revelation's Chronology

The 144,000 Jews
We saw previously, that Christ's second coming occurs at the sixth seal. Chapter seven intervenes between the sixth and seventh seals. The sixth seal does not actually describe the battle of Armageddon, but only the fear of mankind as they realize the "great day of his wrath is come," when they see Jesus coming in the clouds. The sequence is interrupted in chapter seven by an angel.
Revelation 7
3 Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of God in their foreheads.
One hundred and forty four thousand faithful Jews are then sealed for protection from the wrath of God that falls at the final battle. This is the Jewish remnant which will be saved when they see Jesus coming in glory and realize who He is. Zechariah wrote of this day as follows:
Zechariah 12
10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
Paul also spoke of this day when all of the remaining Jews will be saved.
Romans 11
25 For I would not brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in.
26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, 'There shall come out of Zion the deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
27 For this is my covenant with them, when I shall take away their sins.
Joel 3
13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great.
14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
15 The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.
16 The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
17 So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more....
21 For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the LORD dwelleth in Zion.
