Jarod's pretend: University Professor
Episode title: "Murder 101"
Written By: Andrew Dettman and Daniel Truly
Directed By: Scott Laurenten

Jarod Gardner replaces Professor Alden Clark as teacher of a class on The Psychology of the Criminal Mind at the University of Hanover.   The class is part of the Vanguard program, which only has the brightest students in it.   Professor Clark just disappeared one day and it was assumed that he had run of with a mistress that he had managed to keep hidden from his wife, who was expecting their first child.   As a result of that assumption, Mrs. Clark (whose baby has been born) is in the process of losing her house for lack of funds, since she could not collect on her husband's insurance policy in the absence of any evidence that he had been killed.   Jarod challenges the class to find out what really happened to Professor Clark and in the course of the assignment, narrows down the number of students who could have possibly killed Professor Clark to three ... not co-incidentally, the three brighest students in the class.   In the end, Jarod discovers that Professor Clark did not have a mistress at all and that all three of the students he suspected were involved in the murder of Professor Clark.   Clair Dunning, the brightest of the group, was the mastermind, manipulating her two male counterparts into helping her ... all because the good professor loved and was faithful to his wife and therefore spurned Clair's advances toward him.

At The Centre, Jarod tells Miss Parker that her father has changed his will.   Shortly afterwards, she sees her father with his doctor, having bottles of pills delivered to him.   She assumes that something is terribly wrong with her father - that perhaps he is even dying.   When she confronts him, Mr. Parker tells her that the bottles of pills were actually vitamins and a bottle of Viagra -- and that he has not only fallen in love again, but plans to marry right away!   Miss Parker is stunned and has a difficult time accepting her father's interest in another woman, even all these years after her mother's death.   She talks to Sydney about it, and feeling remorse for her initial reaction, takes a small gift to her father's office. While delivering the gift, she hears the sound of laughter coming from the bathroom and when she opens the door, she finds her father in the hot tub with none other than BRIGITTE ... whose blonde locks have been turned to dark brown.   As Mr. Parker gazes lovingly at Brigitte, she taunts Miss Parker with her new status as Mr. Parker's fiancee!   Later, Jarod calls again and adds insult to injury, reminding Miss Parker again what it is like ... not really knowing anything at all about ones father.   Notably absent from this entire sequence is Lyle, Miss Parker's new-found twin brother!   Will Mr. Parker's engagement to Brigitte affect him that same way that it affected Miss Parker ... or is it just another of his evil schemes (remember that Brigitte was originally Mr. Lyles little toy)?

Guest Stars:   Tamara Braun, Grand L. Bush, L.D. Fisher, Marguerite MacIntyre and Mario Schugel
