Greetings Brother and Sisters of the Raven...

The time for preparation for war has come upon us, more quickly than some of us would have liked, I am sure. Lean times make for a lean Fyrd presence at Pennsic this year. I hope all who can manage the Journey to the once "Debatable Lands" are able to do so safely and with all the enjoyment we all share when we can attend this grand gathering.

Simple Day is coming, as are some other events this summer. Perhaps some of us could plan to meet at an event to share stories and fight together. If you plan on attending an event, be sure to send notice to the other Fyrdmen so perhaps some of us may attend together.

Long Lost Brother Fergus sent a missive to the Fyrd recently. It was good to hear from you Fergus, we had heard many stories that a horrendous demise may have befallen you. Good to hear you are doing well. Now if we could only find Alrik, Steinolf, and Cathal. I fear for these Brother's safety as they have been known to take up with women of questionable character and may have been lured into a trap. :)(This is a jest here people!)

General Reminders

We wanted to do something along the lines of a "House Colors" tunic that we could wear when fielding at Pennsic. House colors and symbol. How you present it is up to you. I am sure some of the ladies would be more than willing to give/barter/or offer their stitching abilities to help some of us less talented make a tunic.

This is NOT mandatory and is open for discussion. This is just something that Erelwin, I, and some of the other Fyrdmen feel could help our group recognition. Instead of being "Those Raven Guys", perhaps our name would get associated with our colors.

The "Projects" section is up. Still needing submissions for it. Isabetta made a banner for Thorfinnr for Crown Tourney. A Pic of this awesome banner is under Isabetta's Projects! Izzy, you're always a Queen in my book!! All Fyrdmen and Gestir, if you have pics of some of the truly outstanding things you have made, send them to me. Either hard copy or electronically. These will be posted with your name in the "Projects" section. Lets show everyone that we have talent and creativity, as well as the willingness to fight.

The Gestir of the Fyrd that are not Warriors will soon have a section on the Roster Page. We just need to get pictures of all the "Honored Guests" the Fyrd holds near and dear so we can introduce them to you, our visitors.

Grimwulf's Fyrd Awards
Raven's Claw - A fighting award given by the Fyrd to an individual for repeatedly performing exceptional actions on the Field of Combat.(Probably the hardest award to recieve from Grimwulf)
The Raven's Heart - An award given to an individual who has done something exceptionally special for Grimwulf and the Fyrd. Service above and beyond reasonable expectation.
Order of the Raven's Breath - This award is given to a person or persons that have gone well beyond the norm and expected in service to the Fyrd or the Society by being the driving force behind a project/idea that comes to fruition. It is not to replace the Award of the Raven's Heart but act as another option for a service award from the Fyrd carrying higher meaning. This will recognize from within the Fyrd a person's devotion and drive to see a project through from its conception to its completion.
The Raven's Feather - An award given to recognize the creativity and craftsmanship shown by an individual. (Think A&S)
Order of the Wolf - Given to warriors of the Fyrd who have served Grimwulf faithfully for 5 Winters.
Greybeards - Given to warriors of the Fyrd who have served Grimwulf faithfully for 10 Winters.
