May I present Pharaoh Akhenatens grandfather; YUYA!!
This page might take some time to load..please wait.

When I first saw YUYA´s mummy I emidietly felt symphathy for this man, his face looks so gentle and nice.He look like the grandfather every kid would want to have.

But Yuya had another history he worked with Pharaos horses and was in charge of the chariots of the court a job that would put him in contact with the high class of the court. And would also make him one of the elite Nobles in Egypt at that time.(One of his titles was Hereditary Prince..see first page for more information)
And that work would demand very high speciality of knowledge about horses and chariots.
He also worked as the Chief Prophet of MIn..that would give him a status as an Oracle. Before the fertility God of Egypt.Probably make him involved in some fertility rituals too....Oh, there went my dream of YUYA as the good old grandfather making toys for his grandchildren!!

This is my first attempt to wake good old YUYA to life again.I noticed that his mouth was drawn out so it looked wider than it would have been in real life.Even though YUYA had a full lip very sensual.I could see that the mouth was too wide by the wrinkles of the side of the mouth..they were way up to his ears. I build up his face right over the picture of him as a mummy, Painting in lairs and direct on the surface of the mummy.I tried to keep as much of the original pic as I could to make this an actual natural face of YUYA.I think I suceeded better than I ever thought!!
I decided to show Yuya in wig as he would have been seen official when he was living.
It gives a special feeling to see half the face living and half dead...a very special feeling.

Here is the hole face reconstructed in black and white. I let his right eye keep most of it´s shape and looks as a dead...that gives the picture a real touch.Don´t you think..almost a scaring touch. But even though he is so alive in this picture. This would be how he looked a couple of years before he died.(10 maybe I haven´t give him so much wrinkles)You can see on his face that this is YUYA ....Since I build his face directly over the mummy´s face it IS Yuya.
When I saw the picture with the wig and all, I must say I thought he looked
more EGYPTIAN than I have thought before.
I wonder if the light grey hair was fooling my eyes? No, his face is commented on by several sientist
and all agree that he might have a asiatic orgin..not egyptian.
But I have learn that you can´t be certain of anything when it´s concern Ancient Egypt History. Just can´t be sure of anything!!!
What you read in one egypt history book is destroyed with other evidence in another book..I wish they could throw away all "fantasy" history book of Egypt,
they fool so many people over and over again. One theory with no backing after another....*sighs*
I still thought without skin color this portrait wasen´t finished..so I had to do another picture.

This is the final result of my recinstruction.Feel blessed to be able to see the Father of a Queen and Grandfather of a Pharaoh again. In the wig he look egyptian too.(even though many archeologist belives he is of an Asian orgin..(me to).Maybe Mittani or Hittite origin)The horses and chariot came into Egypt in the 18 dynasty ,from the hyksos kings. And the men who worked with the kings horses and chariots is belive to be of Asian orgin.Based on their unegypt names and that the knowledge about horses was Asian, not egyptian.

I got so excited by the succees with YUYA´s portrait that I just had to recreate his face from profile too.The mummy in profile was very "wrinkled" and the nose was bend so I know I had a hard task before me..but I tried. If you want to see YUYA`S face in profile go to this link:
