District 3 Marketing Report:

by Kelli McDoulett, ATM
1997-1998 District 3 Lt. Governor
Marketing

Membership recruitment is the way Toastmasters survives in today's dynamic environment. No longer are we in a world where businesses and communities are asking for assistance. Asking, even begging for programs to come into their environment is something of the past. As Toastmasters, we have to compete with other organizations to grab the attention of prospective new members.

Grappling for that attention should be easy, but many of us find it difficult. Don't be worried or concerned - Just go for it!

Toastmasters is a great value! Today, more than ever, communication skills are in high demand and participation in a Toastmasters club is the best, most cost-effective means of developing those skills. It is one of the best adult continuing education programs available.

Not only is it a great value, you also have fun, meet new people, increase your confidence, and stay ahead in up-to-date communication skills.

We all have experienced the fun, anxiety, friendship . . . of Toastmasters.
Let's go out there, talk about Toastmasters and ASK our guests to join.

If you have questions about membership in any fashion or form, come to our Membership Roundtables that are scheduled: January 31 in Phoenix, February 14 in Tucson, and May 16.

Congratulations to our Top Membership Recruiters for the first quarter. These members recruited a minimum of 5 new members. I want to see your name on this list next quarter! You can do it!

Kelli McDoulett, Foothills
Tracey Schofield, Thunderbird
Terri Sparks, Fountain Hills
Chris Vicencio, Speakers in Paradise, Premium
Joan Zimmerman, Sunset
Per Besson, Thunderbird

In District 3, a total of 175 people sponsored new members, numbering 253 since July 1, 1997.

At the end of October , we just completed a Leaders-In-Service Membership campaign. The winners of this campaign could use one of the Top 3 Leaders (Nancy, Jodie or Kelli) for any chore, duty, or service that they could think of needing. The caveat is that minimum of 6 new members were needed to claim Kelli, 9 new members for Jodie and 12 new members for Nancy. These numbers were verified by TI.

Congratulations to Joan Zimmerman of Sunset Toastmasters. Use your leadership well.

What other campaigns are happening? The BIG campaign is a cumulative campaign and runs till 30 June 1998. Win $ 100 towards a plane ticket to the next International Convention in Palm Desert, California.

Start bringing in the members. You can do it!
See you in the pool in Palm Desert ?!

Toastmedics Needed.
Willing to train.
  • Are you enthusiastic about Toastmasters?
  • Do you like to help others?
  • Have you ever been a mentor, encourager, cheerleader?
  • Do you like Public Relations and Marketing?
  • Do you like to give Educational presentations?

If you answered "yes" to any of the above, then you are qualified to become a Club Specialist / Toastmedic.

I'm asking for your help. I need assistance helping those clubs with less than 10 members. As a Toastmedic, you visit a club, diagnose trouble areas and help them get well. I will personally train you and give you all the materials you may need.

Please fill out the information below and send to Kelli McDoulett.
I'm looking forward to working with you.
